Since then she has augmented her essential skills with Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage techniques, and rigorous courses in Pregnancy Massage, Abdominal Massage, Thai Massage, Fertility Awareness, and other methods. Emma is qualified in the Vodder Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Emma has continuously sought to develop her holistic practice, adding BSc (Hons) Herbal Medicine to her repertoire in 2010. You’ll often find her exploring Nature’s herbal offerings in and around the city of Edinburgh. Now working primarily as a Herbalist, Emma integrates her knowledge of the body gained from years working in the holistic therapy field. She helps patients to explore all aspects of their health, using self-massage, aromatherapy oils, herbal medicines, nutritional and lifestyle advice, to help improve quality of life and achieve optimum health.

Emma passionately believes that  Herbal Medicine should be accessible to all, and leads herbs walks so that others can be aware of the medicines growing all around them. She offers concessions for those with a low income, and, pre-covid, regularly worked with charities and family centres providing free talks, workshops and treatments, allowing more people to experience the benefits of these therapies.

Emma’s field of special interest is Women’s Health, with a focus on Women’s cycles from menarche to menopause, and female fertility-related issues. She has taught courses on these topics both in the UK and Japan.

Originally from the rural Welsh countryside, Emma has a deep understanding of the link between nature, health, and the environment, and she brings knowledge gained from years of work and study in natural health into her practice.  She chooses to use organic oils, herbs, and tinctures in her treatments, avoiding the pesticide and solvent residues often found in conventional products.

Practising holistically, Emma works with her clients to resolve the causes of their complaints along with treating the symptoms.  She works hard to tailor each treatment to the specific needs of each client, and to adapt as those needs change over time. Individual diet and lifestyle advice is given where appropriate, in order to effect recovery at the deepest possible level.
